Writing:  We started writing in our new writing journals.  In our journals we focus on using a capital letter to start sentences, proper punctuation and spacing and the neatness of our writing.  We also reread our writing to make sure it makes sense.  On each page of our writing journals we have a check list to double check our writing.

We now have sixty seven words and they are: I, a, it, in, see, big, my, like, up, run, on, at, we, me, am, did, not, is, can, but, to, too, ran, into, for, little, and, yes, go, no, so, the you, down, he, she, be, her, our, out, get, help, now, look, good, jump, will, have, must, one, two, three, four, nine, said, this, that, new, soon, went, come, do, all, there, who, what, where. Our spirals are going home today.  We are going to keep our spirals in the front sleeve of our green folder so we can practice our words at school and at home.  Please remind your child to bring their popcorn word spirals to school everyday.  Please practice the popcorn words with your child at home.  The words are getting difficult.

Math:  We continued working on measurement and data.  We talked about shorter, longer, length and height.  Please continue practicing reading and writing numbers 1 through 20.  Please continue to practice addition facts that add up to ten along with subtracting numbers up to ten.  We took our addition quiz with facts up to five by adding 2 to each number.
